Muller & Crater Chain

Muller & Crater Chain - Moon: Central Region
Rukl 44, VTM H9
Muller (24 x 20 km) is an odd shaped crater overshadowed by nearby Ptolemaeus. The notable feature here is the crater chain to the RHS of Muller. I'm not sure why this chain is not officially named, but it is known colloquially as the Muller Crater Chain. Such structures were thought to be of volcanic origin, but it is now accepted that at least some have resulted from near simultaneous multiple impacts.
