Tycho

Tycho - Moon: South Region
Tycho (85 km) is one of youngest craters on the Moon (age ~ 108 million years) & one of the most prominent, particularly due to its ray system which can be seen with binoculars. The crater is quite deep at 4.85 km, & its floor is relatively untouched by more recent impacts. There are many small hills dotted across the floor. The central mountain rises to 1.6 km. The terraced walls are rich in detail.
