Moon: West Region

The West Region is dominated by the southern reaches of the 4 million km2 basalt plain Oceanus Procellarum. The plain hosts a number of low profile volcanic dome fields can be seen at sun-rise and sun-set. Two young and prominent craters, Copernicus and Kepler, interrupt the plains. Their respective rays systems are very prominent at full moon.
