Hainzel has resulted from at least three impacts and looks like the imprint of a giant peanut. Hainzel (~70 km) is actually the largest, most obliterated crater at the bottom (South) end of the complex. The better defined crater on the LHS is Hainzel A (53 km), with Hainzel C (38 km) to th LHS. This image was captured in IR. Named after German astronomer Paul Hainzel (c 1570) who collaborated with Tycho Brahe.
